Eligibility – Who can apply and who cannot?
The Entrepreneur Pass holds an eligibility criteria as to who can apply and what they require.
As mentioned above, the EntrePass is for foreign entrepreneurs, investors and innovators. To be more specific, candidates of all nationalities can apply. There are two conditions for applying for an EntrePass.
- If you have started a private limited company (that is venture-backed or possesses innovative technologies) or intend to start one.
- If your company is registered, the company must be within six months of registration on the date of application.
- If your company is not registered, you can do that once you know the results of your application.
Innovative Criteria: It is necessary to fulfill any of the criteria listed below for entrepreneur, innovator or investor. Meeting multiple criteria and qualifications would improve your application’s outlook.
Entrepreneur: The business should have raised a funding of at least $100,000 from a government-recognised venture capitalist (or) The business should be an incubatee at an incubator in Singapore that is recognised by the Government of Singapore (or) The business has remarkable experience business and corresponding networks.
Innovator: The candidate or the business should hold an intellectual property (IP) which is registered with an approved national intellectual property institution (or) The candidate possesses outstanding expertise in the field of your business.
Investor: You have an appreciable track record of investing in a good number of businesses and intend to invest in existing and upcoming businesses in Singapore, by starting a company , devoted to investment-related tasks.
There is an exception to the businesses/companies that can apply for an Entrepreneur Pass. They are:
- Coffee shops, hawker centres, food courts
- Bar, night clubs, karaoke lounges
- Foot reflexology, massage parlors
- Acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, herbal dispensing businesses
- Employment agencies
- Germany businesses
EntrePass Application – How to apply?
To apply for an EntrePass, you can apply online by downloading the application from the official website Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
A sum of $105 must be paid when submitting the application. A period of 8 weeks is the time it takes to process the application. The status of your application can be checked from 3 weeks after its submission. Request a cost-free assessment now
Required Documents
The documents that are necessary to be submitted along with the application for EntrePass are:
- Personal details in your passport.
- Resume with elaborate details of previous professional experiences and awards, if any.
- A business plan (in English) with a maximum of ten pages, which must contain the details of the products or services offered by the business, market analysis, operation plan, profile of the management team and the supporting documents such as licensing agreements, product certificates, endorsement patents, etc.
EntrePass – Renewal
In order to renew the EntrePass you hold, applying for renewal should be done three months before the expiration of your EntrePass.
- Start applying when you receive the renewal form, three months before the pass expires and submit the application along with the necessary documents, two months before your pass expires.
- A sum of $225 is to be paid for the renewal of EntrePass.
- The duration of the Entrepreneur Pass is one year for the first renewal and two years for every subsequent renewal.
Passes for Family Members
Being an EntrePass holder, you can obtain passes for your family members to join you in Singapore, provided you meet the requirements of minimum annual business spending and local employment.
The type of pass for family members varies. For legally married spouse and unmarried children below 21 years, you can avail a Dependent’s Pass. For parents, you can avail a Long-Term Visit Pass.
