How it works
From first call to first results in weeks. This is what working with Trust Partners for Business looks like.
Six steps to your first results
30 minutes
Discovery call
A partner learns your goals, your team and the problems behind the request. You leave with a clear view on whether fractional support fits.
1 to 2 weeks
Diagnostic
We interview key people and review systems, documents or policies to confirm where a fractional leader adds the most value.
Within a week of the diagnostic
Proposal
A written scope: the seats, days per month, outcomes for the first 90 days, your proposed partner and the fee. You meet the partner before you sign.
Week 1
Onboarding
Access, introductions and a 30-day plan. Your partner joins your leadership meetings from the first week.
Every month
Delivery
A steady rhythm of leadership meetings, work with your team and a one-page report on progress, decisions and risks.
Every 3 months
Quarterly review
We review results with you and decide together: scale up, scale down, add a seat or plan a handover to a full-time hire.
Engagement models
Every seat uses one of three models. You can switch between them at a quarterly review.
Advisory
Best for: A capable internal team that needs senior direction
- Monthly leadership meeting
- Key decisions and reviews
- Monthly one-page report
- Phone and chat access between visits
Usually 6 months or more
Embedded
Best for: No senior leader in the function yet
- Everything in Advisory
- Leads the team and its projects
- Hiring and vendor management
- Board reporting
Usually 6 to 18 months
Project
Best for: One defined outcome with a deadline
- Agreed scope and deliverables
- Fixed timeline
- Fixed price, invoiced at milestones
- Handover at the end
Usually 2 to 12 weeks
What you get every month
A named partner
The same senior person every month, who attends your leadership meetings.
A one-page report
Progress, decisions, risks and next month's priorities.
Access between visits
Phone and chat for urgent decisions.
A shared workspace
Documents, decisions and actions in one place your team can see.
A quarterly review
Results measured against the goals agreed at the start.
How success is measured
Each seat agrees its measures with you at the start, and reports on them every month. Typical measures:
| Seat | Typical measures |
|---|---|
| Fractional CTO | Roadmap projects delivered on time and on budget; Software and cloud spend against budget; System uptime and incident count |
| Fractional HR | Time to hire; Offer acceptance rate; Staff turnover and regretted leavers |
| Fractional CISO | Open high risks; Phishing test click rate; Staff using multi-factor authentication |
| AI Projects | Hours saved per week; Processing time per document or request; Error rate against the manual baseline |
| IT & AI Training | Skills check scores before and after; Tool adoption, such as active users; Phishing simulation click rate |
Commercial terms
- Fees
- Advisory and Embedded seats are a monthly fee for the agreed days. Projects have a fixed price, invoiced at milestones.
- Term
- Seats start with an initial three months, then continue quarter by quarter.
- Independence
- Partners take no commissions from vendors, so every recommendation is made for you.
- Confidentiality
- Every partner signs a confidentiality agreement before seeing your information.
- Continuity
- If your partner is unavailable for a long period, a second partner who knows your account steps in.
When an engagement ends
When an engagement ends, you receive a handover pack: documents, decisions, open risks and next steps. If you are hiring a full-time leader, your partner can write the role, help run the search and onboard the new hire.
Not sure which seats you need?
The fit check takes about two minutes and suggests a starting bench, with reasons.
